Guitar Lesson Terms
These terms apply to individual guitar lessons and, by prior agreement, guitar lessons for two students, provided by Guit Club / SIA EJ Sound.
By applying for lessons and making payment, the client confirms that they have read these terms, understand them and agree to them.
The Latvian version of these terms is the main version. The English and Russian translations are provided for clients’ convenience.
1. Lesson format
Lessons are individual. A standard lesson lasts 50 minutes, unless otherwise agreed.
In certain cases, lessons may take place for two students at the same time, if this has been agreed in advance. This format is suitable for two students with a similar level, for example friends, a couple, brothers or sisters.
Lessons usually take place in person, but by prior agreement they may also be provided online using a video call or another online communication tool suitable for both parties.
In the case of an online lesson, the client/student must provide a suitable device, internet connection, camera and sound so that the lesson can take place properly.
Lessons are adapted to the student’s age, level, musical interests and goals. In the lessons, students may learn guitar basics, chords, rhythm, technique, song accompaniment, basics of improvisation, music understanding and other elements related to guitar playing.
2. Application and lesson time reservation
Applications for lessons are made by filling in the application form on the website or by contacting the service provider individually.
After receiving the application, the service provider contacts the client to agree on the most suitable lesson time, format and payment procedure.
The lesson time is considered reserved only after a specific time has been agreed and payment has been made, if payment is required before the lesson or before the start of the package.
The service provider has the right to refuse or reschedule a lesson time if there is no availability in the schedule at the chosen time or if the chosen format is not suitable for the specific student.
3. Payment
Payment for lessons is made by bank transfer to the service provider’s bank account, unless otherwise agreed.
In the case of a package or programme, payment must be made before the first lesson included in the package or programme.
In the case of a single lesson, payment must be made before the lesson or within another previously agreed term.
By making payment, the client confirms that they have read these terms and agree to them.
Cash payments are possible only by prior agreement. If payment is made in cash, it is processed in accordance with the requirements of applicable laws and the service provider’s accounting procedure.
4. Prices
Lesson prices are indicated on the website, in the application form or in individual communication with the client.
The service provider has the right to change prices by informing clients in advance. Price changes do not apply to already paid packages, programmes or lessons.
Current prices:
Intro lesson, 30 min — €15
One lesson, 50 min — €35
4-lesson package — €120
8-lesson package — €220
12-lesson guitar programme — €300
Friends package: 4 lessons for two students — €180
The price of the friends package is indicated for both students together.
5. Packages and programmes
If the client purchases a 4-lesson package, it must be used within 5 weeks from the date of the first lesson, unless otherwise agreed.
If the client purchases an 8-lesson package, it must be used within 10 weeks from the date of the first lesson, unless otherwise agreed.
If the client purchases a 12-lesson programme, it must be used within 15 weeks from the date of the first lesson, unless otherwise agreed.
If the client purchases a friends package, it applies to two specific students. The package cannot be shared with other people or used with a changing group of participants without prior agreement.
Unused lessons after the expiry of the package or programme validity period are not rescheduled or refunded, except in cases where a separate agreement has been reached.
6. Rescheduling and lateness
The client may reschedule a lesson by informing the service provider at least 24 hours before the scheduled start of the lesson.
If the client informs the service provider about non-attendance or the need to reschedule less than 24 hours before the start of the lesson, the lesson is considered used.
If the client is late for the start of the lesson, the lesson ends at the previously agreed time and is not extended.
If a lesson needs to be rescheduled due to the service provider, the client is offered another lesson time.
If an in-person lesson cannot take place for objective reasons, the parties may agree to reschedule the lesson to another time or to hold it online. The online format is not applied automatically, but only by prior agreement between the client/student and the service provider.
In the case of a friends package, the lesson is reserved for both students at the same time. If one of the students cannot attend the lesson, the lesson may take place with the other student or be rescheduled only if notice has been given at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson and it is possible to agree on another time.
7. Cancellation and refunds
If the client wishes to cancel an already paid package, programme or lesson before the lessons have started, the service provider must be informed as soon as possible.
A refund for an already started package or programme is not guaranteed, but each case may be reviewed individually.
If the service provider is unable to provide already paid lessons for objective reasons and it is not possible to agree on rescheduling to another time, a refund may be issued for the lessons that did not take place.
Refunds are not issued for lessons that the client did not attend and did not request to reschedule at least 24 hours before the start of the lesson.
8. Lessons for children and minors
If the student is a minor, the application, payment and communication regarding the lesson schedule are handled by a parent or legal representative.
The parent or legal representative is responsible for ensuring that the child arrives at the lesson on time and is ready for the lesson.
By applying for lessons for a minor student, the parent or legal representative confirms that they agree to the child’s participation in the lessons and to the application of these terms.
9. Student preparation for lessons
The student is advised to bring their own guitar to the lesson, if one is already available.
If the student does not yet have a guitar, the choice of the most suitable guitar can be discussed during the first lesson or consultation.
To achieve better results, the student is encouraged to practise regularly between lessons and complete the assigned homework.
The service provider does not guarantee a specific result within a specific time, as progress depends on the student’s regularity, motivation, practice frequency and individual abilities.
10. Materials and learning content
During lessons, individually prepared learning materials, song fragments, exercises, chords, tablatures, audio or video examples and other learning aids may be used.
Materials prepared by the service provider are intended for the student’s personal use for learning purposes.
These materials may not be publicly distributed, sold, published online or used commercially without the service provider’s prior consent.
11. Communication
Communication regarding the lesson schedule, rescheduling, payment and other organisational matters takes place by phone, email, messaging app or another previously agreed communication channel.
The client is responsible for informing the service provider in a timely manner about any changes that may affect the course of the lessons.
The service provider aims to respond to client messages within a reasonable time, taking into account the lesson schedule and workload.
12. Personal data
For the purpose of applying for lessons and organising lessons, personal data of the client and/or student may be processed, such as name, contact information, age, lesson schedule, information about learning goals and payment information.
Personal data is used only for organising lessons, communication, payment administration, accounting needs and providing the service.
Client data is not transferred to third parties, except in cases where this is necessary for providing the service, handling accounting or fulfilling obligations set by applicable laws.
By applying for lessons, the client agrees to the processing of the data they have provided for the purposes mentioned above.
13. Photos, videos and reviews
During lessons, photos, videos or audio recordings are not made for public use without the consent of the client or, in the case of a minor student, the parent or legal representative.
Client or student reviews may be published on the website or social media only with the consent of the client or parent/legal representative.
The student or parent may photograph or film parts of the lesson for personal use only by prior agreement with the service provider.
14. Liability
The service provider provides lessons professionally and in accordance with the student’s level, goals and abilities.
The client/student is responsible for their personal belongings, instrument and any other equipment brought to the lesson.
The service provider is not responsible for the client’s or student’s personal belongings left unattended.
15. Changes to the terms
The service provider has the right to update these terms.
Changes do not affect services that have already been paid for, unless separately agreed with the client.
The current version of the terms is available on the website.
